Simone at Zurich Train StationOn my trip to World Youth Chess Championships 2010 in Greece, I stopped in Zurich, a major city in Switzerland after 11 hours of plane ride from Los Angeles. As far as I knew, Switzerland is famous for its tasty chocolate, fancy cheese and delicate watches. When I arrived there, I did see many pastry shops there, small and large, filled with mouth-watering but over-priced bakery goods. I also noticed that the Swiss public transportation system is efficient, convenient and suprisingly clean. People are also very friendly and healthy-looking (I barely see any over-weight individuals). Many of them speak multiple languages including English so I have little trouble asking for direction.
I did a little walk on the streets in downtown Zurich and spent rest of my time resting, as my dad has advised. I am flying out this evening to Thessaloniki, Greece and taking a bus ride to the tournament site of World Youth Chess Championships.
